HERMITAGE -- Sports Radio 96.7 (WLLF) and News/Talk 790 WPIC have compiled their 2025 preseason football poll for the three District 10 regions involving Mercer County area teams.

District 10 Class 2A champion Farrell has been picked as the favorite in Region 1, a Mercer County-centric league of Class 1A and 2A teams.

In Region 2, a mixed Class 1A and 2A league that includes Mercer and Crawford County programs, defending league champion Greenville is a unanimous choice for the top spot.

Defending District 10 Class 3A champion Hickory is the preseason favorite in Region 4, a conference featuring Class 3A teams from Mercer and Crawford Counties, along with Slippery Rock.

The stations' four regular broadcasters, Bob Greenburg (sports director/color analyst), Mark Slezak (lead play-by-play commentator), Chris Burtch (color analyst) and Ryan Briggs (play-by-play commentator/lead writer) submitted weighted ballots for Regions 1, 2 and 4.

WLLF/WPIC studio hosts Aaron Biro, Art Shannon and Darren Steele also voted in the polls, as did Erie Times-News sports writer Tom Reisenweber, a frequent contributor to the stations' coverage of high school sports.

In each six-team region, the first-place team received six voter points and second place received five points, with the scale descending to one point for sixth place. In Region 1, a five-team league, the first-place team received five points.

The stations will begin their 2025 season coverage Friday, August 22 with games on both stations. Sports Radio 96.7 will carry Wilmington at Greenville while 790 WPIC will air Sharpsville at Girard. On Saturday night the 23th, Sports Radio 96.7 will broadcast Farrell at Hickory. WPIC will carry the Mercyhurst Prep at Sharon game.
