SPORTS RADIO 96.7/NEWS TALK 790 WPIC RELEASE PRESEASON FOOTBALL POLL

HERMITAGE -- Sports Radio 96.7 (WLLF) and News/Talk 790 WPIC has compiled its 2022 preseason football poll for the two District 10 regions involving Mercer County area teams. The station's four regular broadcasters, Bob Greenburg (sports director/color analyst), Mark Slezak (lead play-by-play commentator), Chris Burtch (color analyst) and Ryan Briggs (play-by-play commentator/lead writer) submitted weighted ballots for Regions 1 and 3.

WLLF/WPIC postgame host Darren Steele and Erie Times-News sports writer Tom Reisenweber, both frequent contributors to the stations' high school sports coverage throughout the year, also voted in the polls.

In each eight-team region, the first-place team received eight voter points and second place received seven points, with the scale descending to one point for eighth place.

The stations will begin their 2022 season coverage Friday night with games on both stations. Sports Radio 96.7 will carry Grove City at Avonworth while 790 WPIC has North East against Farrell at Westminster College's Memorial Field.
